Moto Guzzi V9: History, Roamer and Bobber Versions
Moto Guzzi · 2016 - present · 853 cc
Description
Features and technical evolution
Created to fill the gap between the slim V7 and the majestic California, the Moto Guzzi V9 gives the idea of the custom and of essentiality an Italian twist. It splits into the Roamer, elegant and devoted to relaxed touring, and the Bobber, dark, gutsy and characterised by its big front tyre.
Historical context
Unveiled at the EICMA show in 2015 to reach the market in 2016, the V9 was born in the era of the explosion of custom and garage culture. Moto Guzzi responded to American and European trends by offering a middleweight alternative with a strong Italian identity.
Main versions
V9 Roamer, V9 Bobber, V9 Bobber Sport, V9 Centenario.
Trivia and anecdotes
The V9 Bobber was the first production Moto Guzzi to be fitted from the factory with an oversize 130/90 front tyre on a 16-inch rim, a detail that gives it the footprint of a true racing custom.
